FTSS BioRID II Dummy Introduction
FTSS is pleased to announce the completion of its BioRID II Rear Impact Crash Test
dummy development, which is now available in the FTSS product line. BioRID II is a dummy designed to assess the effects of rear-end collisions. Its primary purpose is to
research whiplash injuries and to aid designers in developing effective head and neck restraints in vehicles. For this purpose the BioRID II has a sophisticated spinal column
construction that allows a natural seating posture and replication of neck movements seen in rear-end collisions.
In fabricating the dummy, FTSS has solicited user feedback from industry and test
houses, incorporating subtle improvements related to repeatability, reproducibility and usability while leaving the dummy performance unaffected.
