SafetyWeek 2008 – The future of vehicle safetyclick to enlarge

Exhibition, events, live demos and networking for Active and Passive Vehicle Safety

Aschaffenburg, February 2008 - SafetyWeek, an established unique event series for vehicle safety, will take place in Aschaffenburg on 16 and 17 April for the fifth time. For 2008 the concept of SafetyWeek has been refined: the event is now concentrated on 2 days and has been extended by 2 additional partner events and a central evening event.

SafetyWeek covers the complete bandwidth of Active and Passive Vehicle Safety, now hosting 5 focussed events and an exhibition featuring the booths of renowned automotive suppliers. Experts will present the newest requirements, methods, strategies and developments in the area of Active and Passive Vehicle Safety in technical lectures and user presentations as well as in live demos. The patron of SafetyWeek 2008 is Prof. Dr. Josef Nassauer, speaker of the Bavarian Cluster Automotive and managing director of Bayern Innovativ GmbH.

SafetyWeek will host the following events:

Core events:

  • SafetyUpDate – Hands-on and product-neutral knowledge congress giving an up-to-date overview on all relevant new requirements and developments regarding vehicle safety
  • SafetyExpo – Exhibition for Active and Passive Vehicle Safety including exhibitor presentations (SafetyLectures)

Partner events:

  • Cooperation Forum Driver Assistance Systems: Innovative integration of functions
  • FTronik TecDay – Driving simulators assisting the development of driver assistance systems
  • New: DSD-Forum Sled Simulation – Innovative testing methods for sled simulation
  • New: FTSA Technology Forum – Advances in virtual and physical crash test dummies

SafetyXchange is the central evening event tying together all events of SafetyWeek. It will take place in the middle of the SafetyExpo exhibition, providing participants of all events with the opportunity for networking. Michiel van Ratingen, the new secretary general of EuroNCAP, will open the evening as keynote speaker with his presentation "The next mile – Euro NCAP’s push for safer cars"

Another highlight of SafetyWeek will be the technology demonstration on Aschaffenburg’s market square. Vehicles equipped with the newest vicinity sensors and car-to-car communication technology, will show how the interaction of vicinity sensors and car-to-car communication can increase vehicle safety and comfort.

SafetyWeek is hosted by carhs.training GmbH and organised by ZENTEC GmbH. ACTS, Continental, Delphi and TRW Automotive are acting as sponsors for SafetyWeek.
