TATA AUTOCOMP SYSTEMS LIMITED BUILDS PASSENGER AIRBAG TEST FACILITY
World Class Facility Will Feature the Microsys SureFire System
Mississauga ON Canada, 3 August 2007 Microsys Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been selected
by Tata AutoComp Systems Limited (TACO) of Pune, India to provide the key equipment for a new passenger side airbag test facility. When launched in
December 2007 at the TACO Interiors & Plastic Tech Center, this facility will further reinforce TACO’s position as India’s leading technology provider of automotive components and systems.
The new TACO Passenger Airbag Deployment Facility will feature a state of the art testing system from
Microsys Technologies Inc. of Canada. The Microsys SureFire system, the first in India, will be configured with
high speed cameras capable of speeds of 4000 frames per second in order to capture and analyze instrument panel performance during the airbag deployment. The SureFire data acquisition system can be used to
measure forces generated by the airbag which can then be correlated with the high speed video using the Microsys PowerPlay analysis software.
“Microsys is very excited to have been selected by Tata AutoComp Systems to provide the Passenger Airbag
Deployment Facility equipment, said Mr. Corey Miller, Microsys President. “Once completed in late 2007, TACO’s
facility will be among the most modern in the world. I want to congratulate TACO for taking a leadership role within the Indian automotive components and systems industry.”
Mr. Manoj Kolhatkar, CEO of the TACO Interiors and Plastics Division: “We selected Microsys, a Canadian
company, because they offered a good combination of airbag expertise and product features to allow us to launch our new facility within a very aggressive timeframe.”
