SafetyWeek 2007 – an extensive programme for Active and Passive Vehicle Safety: 27 to 29 March 2007, Aschaffenburg, Germany
SafetyWeek taking place at the end of March in Aschaffenburg near
Frankfurt, Germany, will be an important meeting point and networking platform for experts in vehicle safety. A total of six events for automotive manufacturers and suppliers will give an overview on
new developments, trends, products and services. SafetyWeek, hosted by carhs gmbh (former EASi Engineering GmbH) and organised by ZENTEC GmbH, is the only event in Europe which treats both Active and Passive Safety.
The core elements of SafetyWeek are the knowledge congress SafetyUpDate and the tradeshow SafetyExpo.
Accompanying events consist in the SafetyLectures, the cooperation forum Driver Assistance Systems and for the first time the symposium „Human Modeling and Simulation in Automotive Safety“ as well as the FTronik
TecDay. “The combination of congress, tradeshow and panels gives participants the possibility to bring their knowledge up to date and to get to know the newest developments and technologies on the product side. The
new events add important new aspects to SafetyWeek”, says Rainer Hoffmann, managing director of carhs gmbh.
Location Aschaffenburg – Center of Vehicle Safety Aschaffenburg has turned into one of the most important clusters for Vehicle Safety. 25 years ago the first
airbag incorporated into a vehicle was produced here. For the last few years the companies in the region have engaged in a very dynamic and trusting cooperation.
„SafetyWeek is the visible front-end of our achievements in the area of vehicle safety. In the background there are cross-company working groups, joint research and development projects and much more”, says
Aschaffenburg’s mayor Klaus Herzog.
Knowledge congress Safety UpDate
SafetyWeek will begin with the knowledge congress SafetyUpdate of carhs gmbh taking place for the 5th time in
Johannisburg Castle on 27 and 28 March 2007. The goal is to provide a continuous annual “knowledge update for
experts” in the field of vehicle safety. Renowned speakers from legislative and research institutions and the
automotive industry will give a compact and hands-on knowledge update for selected topics. New in this year: short and focused presentations on current special issues regarding EuroNCAP and pedestrian safety.
Tradeshow SafetyExpo About 60 exhibitors will show the newest developments for avoiding accidents (Active Safety) and for alleviating
the consequences of an accident (passive safety) on 28 and 29 March. SafetyExpo encourages the exchange of automotive manufacturers and their suppliers across the value-added
chain in order to better align technical and functional requirements. Exhibitors include universities and research institutes.
Safety Lectures The SafetyLectures will take place within SafetyExpo. Exhibitors will speak about current trends, product news
as well as innovative developments.
Cooperation Forum Driver Assistance Systems
The future of automotive industry is characterised by increasing vehicle intelligence. Innovative functions for
safety and comfort make it possible to increase the creation of value in vehicle construction. The forum is
organised by Bayern Innovativ GmbH and will take place for the fourth time on 29 March 2007. It will give an overview on current technological trends and offers a networking platform.
New: Symposium Human Modeling and Simulation in Automotive Safety Digital human models and the simulation thereof offer a basis for discovering and understanding human injury
mechanisms in accidents. This will help experts to develop enhanced restraint systems and occupant safety strategies. The symposium is organised by cars gmbh in cooperation with Wayne State University and will be
held in English. Its aim is to initiate and encourage the dialogue between international experts.
New: FTronik TecDay At the TecDay FTronik will present the close-to-production reference platform C of its driving simulator for use in
development, marketing and sales. The simulator serves for providing security for the control concepts of electronic assistance, control and light systems as well as supporting the marketing of these systems. The
TecDay also features presentations on the role of technical demonstrators in the development and marketing of driver assistance systems.
