Denton MUX – Multi-channel test device for your sensors
The number of test channels in crash test applications has increased steadily increased
over the last years. More dummy and vehicle related sensor information is required to develop and improve vehicles to the latests standards. In the early stages of crash testing,
dummys mainly served as ballast whereas today, more than 200 data channels can be measured inside an ATD. Traditionally, checking the transducers had to be done manually, checking channel by
channel for the right bridge values, shunt values and sensor identification information. With the Denton MUX-Solution, we offer all these sensor checks in one system. Consequently,
having an automated solution, the system check can be done much quicker than before, the systems allows for checking 96-channels in less than 20 minutes.
The system consists of a tower with 24-channel racks. Depending on the size of the tower, the total number of test channels per system can vary. To make it a stand alone
device, a PC with a test application is attached to the tower. The test application “Bridge Explorer” has also been developed by Denton. In the likely case that sensors are equipped
with ID-chips, a cross check with the sensor data base can be performed. Once the test sequence is over, a test report is generated to show the system configuration and the test results.
