Laser Measuring Device from IAT
The laser measuring device has been developped for test preparation. In that
case, dummies have to be positioned in the vehicle or sled after customers geometric requirements. With this device, beside the usual distances between
dummy and interior surfaces, the coordinates of relevant dummy points as H point, head cog or knee axles can be measured. This makes communication with numerical simulation staff quite easy.
Beside dummy position measuring, the laser device can be used for any other application where coordinates or positions have to be destined, e.g. correct
position of seat for FMVSS or ENCAP testing measurement will be done in two dimensions using a laser pointer. The third coordinate will be measured using a string pot.
The measurement coordinate system can be adapted to vehicle coordinate system. The display unit can proceed preset values and compensate for angles. The measurement system works without PC, a number of
