Partnership Kayser-Threde and Denton"Goto nxt homepage

nxt is the result of a cooperation between Kayser-Threde, Robert A. Denton, and Denton ATD. Since the project was started in 2001, the three companies have collaborated extremely well on all levels and in all areas. Therefore, Mr.David Stein, President and CEO of Denton, and Mr. Klaus Ensslin, President and CEO of Kayser-Threde, agreed that the relationship between the companies should be converted into a true partnership. Mr. Stein and Mr. Ensslin will sign a partnership agreement during the SAE 2004.

As a result of the partnership between Denton and Kayser-Threde, two joint venture companies will be formed in the U.S. and Germany. Initially, the main purpose of the two companies will be the harmonization of all nxt related marketing and sales activities. The management of both companies believe that the joint ventures will play an important role in promoting the product ranges of both companies. We are sure that this new partnership will be beneficial for us but especially for you – our customers!

Is nxt Just Another In-Dummy System?
Yes and No. Yes, because it has all of the advantages associated with existing in-dummy systems, including the elimination of external cabling that provides greater flexibility in dummy testing, a reduction in analog transducer cable lengths that enhances signal quality, and the ability to incorporate a larger number of transducer channels. No, because nxt has features and benefits that surpass existing in-dummy system designs. nxt uses a completely new approach in data acquisition and wiring. It is truly the NEXT generation of safety testing.

Why is nxt so different?
nxt gives you all the advantages of an in-dummy system while eliminating the disadvantages. Rather than concentrating 30 to 60 signal conditioning and data acquisition channels into single boxes that must be specially designed for each dummy configuration, nxt utilizes the small 3-channel MICRODAU module design. Benefits of this approach include:

  • Easier integration of data acquisition into dummy components because of MICRODAU’s small size.
  • Elimination of thermal “hot spots” because of channel distribution and lower power consumption.
  • No impact on dummy kinematics because of its light weight and mass distribution throughout the dummy.
  • Digital USB communication greatly simplifies and reduces in-dummy wiring.
  • MICRODAU’s lower per-channel cost eliminates the need to move data acquisition from dummy to dummy or test to test.
