MWS-Sensorik Introduces new Accelerometer for Crash Tests
Pfaffenhofen, March 14, 2003 – At the Sensor & Test trade show in Nuremberg,
Germany from May 13 to 15 (Hall 7, Booth 242) MWS Sensorik GmbH based in Pfaffenhofen will introduce the new miniature accelerometer „MWS BS1401“. The
sensor was especially developed for being used in crash tests has already been tested by German car manufacturers and was rated „excellent“. The sensor can be
mounted inside dummies but also at exposed locations throughout the vehicle. Due to its small size, ruggedness, and low transverse sensitivity, this piezoresistive
sensor element can be used in various applications. The accelerometer offers a high linearity and with 0-3500 Hz a wide frequency range. The silicon chip is
protected from overload by a integral mechanical stop. The measurement range is 750 g. The dimensions, the mounts, and the layout of the hole patterns with regards to the centre of the seismic mass comply with the
standard SA572-S4. The specialists from MWS Sensorik GmbH will inform during the show about the best use of the sensors and additional applications.
