RUGGED MODEL 7269 ACCELEROMETER USES MICROMACHINED SENSORS FOR HIGH OUTPUT AND HIGH RESONANCE FREQUENCY

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – Endevco Corporation, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of dynamic instrumentation, has announced the Model 7269, a miniature, triaxial piezoresistive accelerometer that measures three orthogonal axes simultaneously.  The Model 7269’s extremely small size and light weight make it the ideal accelerometer for biomechanics applications, such as the study of head injuries and the testing of automobiles, ejection seats, and heads-up displays.

The Model 7269 utilizes advanced micromachined sensors for ruggedness, high output and a high resonance frequency.  The sensors include integral mechanical overtravel stops that allow the accelerometer to withstand shocks of up to ±2000 g’s.  In addition, internal diodes provide protection against the harmful effects of electrostatic discharge.  Full scale output is 400 mV using 10 VDC excitation.

Weighing only 0.4 grams (0.015 oz.), the Model 7269 accelerometer can be used for making measurements on light structures with a minimum of mass loading. Its small size also allows the device to be installed in hard-to-access areas or on small electronic assemblies.

The Model 7269 has minimum damping, thereby producing negligible phase shift over the specified frequency range.  The frequency response extends down to DC (steady state) acceleration, making it ideal for measuring long-duration transient shocks.

Endevco’s Model 136 Three-Channel System, Model 4430A or Oasis 2000 Computer-Controlled System are recommended as signal conditioner and power supply.  All sales of Endevco products are factory direct.

ENDEVCO is the world's leading designer and manufacturer of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock, and pressure measurements. This company’s comprehensive line of piezoelectric, variable capacitance, piezoresistive, ISOTRON®, and servo force balance accelerometers are used to solve measurement problems in a wide variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, medical, industrial, and marine.  Other products include pressure transducers, microphones, electronic instruments, and calibration systems.  ENDEVCO is a subsidiary of U.K.-based Meggitt PLC, an international group of companies renowned for its specialized engineering skills.
