U.S. Department of Transportation Selects DTS Data Recorders For New Crash Test Barrier Load WallsView in pdf format

Seal Beach, CA (April 13, 2012) - Diversified Technical Systems, Inc. (DTS) has been awarded a contract to supply the data acquisition systems for three new crash test barrier load walls for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The high-resolution load walls will use DTS data recorders to capture vehicle-to-vehicle crash compatibility data as part of NHTSA's research program for future New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) and safety regulations.
Barrier load walls are effective tools in measuring a vehicle's structural integrity in a frontal crash, but NHTSA needed much higher resolution to accurately assess how one vehicle will interact with another in a crash. The new NHTSA high-resolution barrier load wall can have more than 160 3-channel load cells, and will be located at NHTSA contractor crash labs in the US. The DTS TDAS G5 data acquisition system was selected for its proven performance and reliability in high speed crash testing. In addition, the small size, modularity and expandability allow for up to 20 TDAS G5 modules to be packaged in one small, self-contained roll-around rack.

Sensor specialist ASC grows in all areasGerald Pauli

Pfaffenhofen, 19 April 2011 – Advanced Sensors Calibration (ASC), a leading manufacturer of high quality accelerometers, continues its positive development. After 2010, the most successful year in the company's history, the first quarter of 2011 again surpassed all previous results. As a consequence, the company also improved its sales performance.

Last year, ASC saw revenue growth of 32 percent compared with 2009. This trend has continued this year: the volume of orders received in the first quarter rose by 35 per cent compared with the same period last year, and turnover was up by 25 per cent. One reason for this is the high quality of the products and services offered by ASC. This was confirmed in March by the successful completion of the certification of the quality management system according to ISO 9001:2008.
To meet the growing demand and to support this development, ASC has made new staff appointments. On 1 April 2011, Gerald Pauli (35) was appointed as the sales engineer responsible for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Carhs Safety News: Surprising Facts in new FMVSS 226Get more information on carhs web site

After the release of the Final FMVSS 226 - Ejection Mitigation Rule on January 13th, many automotive experts have been surprised by the significant differences in many details compared to the NPRM. On the one hand the industry's request for lower impactor velocity was considered but on the other hand the final rule now includes a rotation of the impactor which results in the need of testing non-NPRM side windows. Also the requirements for test equipment have been modified so that many facilities have to be updated or replaced. Due to the early phase-In in 2013, it is very difficult to deal with the requirements in time. (Image: Bertrandt)
