Kistler Group Awarded Major Contract in India
The Kistler Group has been awarded the contract for instrumentation of
three crash centers for the Indian automobile industry. The client for this substantial deal worth almost twenty million Swiss francs is the autonomous project under Department of Heavy Industries – National
Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP). This means last year's acquisitions by the Business Unit Vehicles of the Kistler Group are already paying off.
The Indian automobile industry is accelerating, with over-average rates of growth at home and abroad. To enable these carmakers to hold their own on the world market, their products
have to meet the international environmental and safety standards. For this reason the Indian government set
up the National Automobile Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP), which will establish three crash
centers to the latest standards in Chennai, Pune and Delhi. The instrumentation of these centers was put out to international tender. Press Release in PDF

M=BUS InDummyDAS Upgrade for BioRIDII Dummies
The integration of MESSRING's M=BUS InDummy Data Acquisition System into the
rear impact ATD BioRIDII is a further milestone on the road to a fully adaptive "All"-Dummy solution. A total of 8 M=BUS Data Loggers can be implanted. Each Logger acquires 6
channels independently even if the bus line is disconnected. Considering the short connection between sensor and DAS Logger, M=BUS provides the highest level of data security on the InDummy Data Acquisition market.
The modules which accommodate the Loggers are positioned in the head, laterally at the spine, and in the pelvic cavity without any modification of the original
dummy. This enables upgrades of BioRIDII ATDs with conventional instrumentation. For the users of an M=BUS Dummy, the modular design of M=BUS also paves the way for an
easy system extension. If necessary, further Loggers or whole modules can be added in the serial bus line regardless of free slots, memory capacity or power supply.
Be prepared for future testing challenges and facilitate your work at the same time. Link to Messring

FTSS BioRID II Dummy Introduction
FTSS is pleased to announce the completion of its BioRID II Rear Impact Crash Test
dummy development, which is now available in the FTSS product line. BioRID II is a dummy designed to assess the effects of rear-end collisions. Its primary purpose is to
research whiplash injuries and to aid designers in developing effective head and neck restraints in vehicles. For this purpose the BioRID II has a sophisticated spinal column
construction that allows a natural seating posture and replication of neck movements seen in rear-end collisions. In fabricating the dummy, FTSS has solicited user feedback from industry and test
houses, incorporating subtle improvements related to repeatability, reproducibility and usability while leaving the dummy performance unaffected.
For further details on the FTSS BioRID II, please use the link to the official data sheet or contact FTSS-Europe BV (+31-15-2192040)

The ERNST Company has completed the new Porsche test center
Porsche AG in Weissach obtains state of the art roof crush test bed The
ERNST + Co Prüfmaschinen GmbH has produced a roof crush test bed for the Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG test center in Weissach. The roof crush test bed is designed for tests according to FMVSS 216. However, the device
surpasses the specifications of the FMVSS-regulation by far. This allows for a maximum test force of 245 kN, at which the device deforms less than 1 mm.
This stiffness produces high-precision test readings. The five axes are all electromechanically powered and are connected directly with the test beds
control system. A maximum in accuracy and stiffness of the roof crush test bed is warranted by using the recirculating ballscrew and linear ways. read full story in pdf format
